Dog-walkers face up to $5,000 fine in Iran

According to a new law ratified by the Council Commission, walking a dog or any other animal considered ‘unclean’ (according to Islam) in public places carries a fine of 1 to 5 million (about 1 to 5 thousand dollars).

The First Secretary of the Council Commission and Internal Affairs cited yesterday’s session in the Council and said, “In this session it was announced that walking a dog or any other unclean animal in public places which resembles dog-walking or animal walking was forbidden”.
