Female human rights activist jailed to serve prison term

Human rights activist and blogger Laleh Hassan Pour who was sentenced to five years of prison was summoned to prison to serve her sentence.

According to reports, her one year prison term and four year suspended prison term which was issued by Judge Pir Abbasi was upheld by a court of review.

This human rights activist was charged with ‘being a member of the Human Rights Activists in Iran and being active in the Human Rights Activists in Iran News Agency’, assembling and conspiring’, ‘propagating against the government’, ‘insulting sanctities’, and ‘insulting the president’.
