More than 200 students in Shiraz University banned from education for commemorating their slain classmate

More than 200 students of the Shiraz University have been banned from education by the university’s Disciplinary Committee.

According to reports, these students were banned from education because of participating in a protest gathering and were sentenced to at least two semesters of suspension from university.

The gathering which was held on Wednesday in protest to the killing of a Shiraz University student by security forces was held simultaneously with the February 20 protests. Several students were arrested during the protests. (Kalameh Website – Feb. 26, 2011)

Nor-Mohammadi was killed at Namazi square, in front of faculty of engineer building.

Hamed Nor-Mohammadi was killed while he was escaping  from Basiji milits and other regime forces.

According to eye-witness, Hamed  Nor-Mohammadi was killed when regime forces through him down from the Rogzar bridge, between Namzi square and Daneshjoo square. He was killed when regime forces throw him down and a coming car hit him after he was falling down from the bridge… (Daneshjoonews website)
