No investigations yet into the murder of Ashraf residents in 2009, Amnesty International says

The Amnesty report, which was published on Monday, September 13, 2010, also points to shocking human rights violations and torture in Iraqi prisons under the government of Nouri al-Maliki.

With respect to Camp Ashraf, the report says, “In July 2009 the government stated that it had set up an investigation into the killing of six Iranian refugees, members of the People’s Mojahedeen Organization of Iran (PMOI), in Camp Ashraf in Diyala governorate after the camp had been raided by Iraqi security forces provoking an international outcry. As of July 2010 it is not known to Amnesty International whether the investigation had been conducted. If it was conducted the findings have not been made public.”
